Hi, my name is Paul Haaker and I have recently taken over the restoration
business previously owned and run by Greg and Christine Ross.
I have been a car enthusiast for as long as I can recall, and about the only
thing that brings a smile to my face is when people start talking cars.
I’ve held many positions over the years from industrial manufacturing, to
technical drawing & design, management and consulting, but underlying this
always was my passion for the automobile.
Like many of us I started out with my first vehicle at the age of 15, being a
Humber 80 and working at the local gas station ( when they used to sell spare
parts ) it was the best kept and maintained car in the district. This was then
followed by a countless procession of numerous vehicles suiting the various
needs of the times until eventually I struck on the idea that a car didn’t
always need to be practical , and hence my first foray into the classic car
market in the early 90’s
This has led to a string of American classics including several AC Cobra’s, a
65 Fastback Mustang and current projects being a 1960 El Camino and 1968
Fastback.
I had owned and overseen the present workshop for almost 5 years, been
initially leased by a previous Classic Car Restoration business and more
recently specializing in WOF’s and General mechanical repairs. Earlier in 2007
we took over the workshop completely and proceeded to fill it with various other
projects culminating in the purchase and relocation of Classique Automotive
Limited in November of 2007
To date 95% of Classiques work has been via word of mouth - this being the
highest compliment and reflects the honesty, ethics and principles of Classique.
As always , at Classique the customer comes first. We offer a service whereby
communication is key. Our team is made up of extremely talented and committed
tradesmen who are all passionate about their work. We have combined restoration
experience of 36 years. The standard of workmanship is second to none - as
proven by the number of awards many of our customers restored vehicles have won
and the number of customers who have returned to us with further restorations.
(Please view our Testimonials page.) Each tradesman is in constant touch with
our customers via phone, fax and email and offer detailed digital photographic
updates of all progress. At the completion of any restoration we provide a
digital library of the work completed.
Restorations are completed on a phased basis, where progress payments are
made on the basis of work actually completed. Our invoicing procedure details
the daily work completed directly from the tradesmen's time sheets, thus
providing the customer with a daily diary and the applicable digital photos.
As Greg points out New Zealand is world renowned for the quality of its
craftsmen so why not take advantage of this when it’s time for your next project
For us it is now business as usual , with the same staff continuing on with
the same work under newer conditions offering a cleaner more spacious
environment and continuing on with the standard, quality and reputation built by
Greg and Christine Ross over the previous 13 years.
So please don't hesitate to contact us for any advice regarding any aspect of
your vehicle. We are only too pleased to assist you. We look forward to
discussing your vehicle requirements with you in the near future
Regards
Paul and the Team at Classique Automotive Restorations
